CARLSTADT, N.J.–Industry veteran Stephen Hoberman has been named to the newly created position of national accounts manager at Momeni. Reporting to Austin Craley, vice president of sales, Hoberman will be based at the company’s main office here.
With almost 10 years of experience in the rug industry, Hoberman will establish and expand Momeni’s business in key distribution channels. He most recently served as national sales manager for the rug division at Kane Carpets, and previous positions include national accounts manager at Trans-Ocean.

Oriental Weavers Appoints Muschamp as Sales V.P.

Muschamp began his sales career in the flooring industry with Oriental Weavers of America in the late 1990s, and was most recently vice president of sales for Nourison. Safavieh Names Wolf Regional Manager

NEW YORK–Michael Wolf has been appointed midwest regional sales manager for Safavieh. He will report to Arash Yaraghi, company principal. Wolf will oversee sales in Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin, as well as several national accounts.
With both rug sales and buying experience, Wolf was previously a sales manager for Lotfy & Sons in Secaucus, N.J., and he was also a buyer for Fortunoff.

Antrim Carpets’ O’Neill Retires

SYOSSET, N.Y.–Fran O’Neill, co-founder and vice president of sales for Antrim, has retired, Stanton Carpet Corp. announced. O’Neill and Dan McGovern founded Antrim Carpets in 1997, and Stanton acquired the company ten years later.
O’Neill was instrumental in transitioning Antrim’s sales staff and continuing to grow the business, the company said in a release. “I have thoroughly enjoyed my almost 40 years in the flooring industry, and I am very grateful for the many terrific friends that I have made over the years,” O’Neill said. “I now look forward to a new phase in my life.”

Connelly to Retire From Wools of New Zealand

MARBLE HILL, Ga.–After 39 years in the floor covering and home textiles industry, Wes Connelly, now North America area manager for Wools of New Zealand, will retire as of March 1. Connelly began his career at Woodside, a division of Dan River Mills, which specialized in apparel fabrics. He then spent 11 years at Monsanto before going to the Wool Bureau, where he remained though the evolution of Wools of New Zealand. And though he is retiring, he still plans to consult for Wools of New Zealand and other businesses in the industry.

Surya Appoints King V.P. Sales and Marketing

Goldberg, Hollingsworth Leave ABC Carpet

NEW YORK–Steve Goldberg, vice president of merchandising and retail development, and Victor Hollingsworth, divisional merchandising manager, have left ABC Carpet & Home.
According to a statement from the retailer, Goldberg’s position has been eliminated. Hollingsworth has resigned to pursue personal projects, ABC said. The company did not comment on whether Hollingsworth’s position will be filled.

LAS VEGAS–World Market Center Las Vegas has appointed trade-show industry veteran Phillip McKay to a new position created to oversee leasing in the gift, lighting, rugs and decorative accessories segments, said Robert Maricich, president and CEO, in a statement.
McKay, who joins World Market as its new senior vice president, will also be responsible for launching new product line categories, and the development of existing and future trade-show events at World Market Center. He will report to Maricich.

CALHOUN, Ga.–Kelly Moore has been named general manager of Mohawk Home’s Floor Mat Division. The position finds him responsible for product and business development for the floor mat business.
Moore is returning to Mohawk, where he began his career 13 years ago. He has since held positions in sales, product and business development, serving most recently as vice president of Home Centers at Oriental Weavers of America.
Mohawk did not say by press time whether the position was new. Moore will report to Rocky Casteel, vice president and general manager.

Roan Named Surya Operating Chief

CALHOUN, Ga.–Steve Roan has been named chief operating officer for Surya Inc. In the newly created position, Roan will be responsible for all areas of operations, excluding sales and marketing.
Roan comes to the company with more than 20 years experience in the rug industry, having worked previously for Shaw and Hellenic. Most recently, Roan was a founding partner of S&S Resources, the company that helped Klaussner Industries break into the rug business.
