WEST HAVERSTRAW, N.Y.–Lighting industry veteran Stuart Goldstein has formed a new lighting company, Park Madison Lighting LLC, to target volume retailers with decorative lamps and fixtures.
The company shipped its first direct-import order this month, and plans to offer both direct import as well as warehoused programs, out of its distribution center here.
Goldstein, who served as executive vice president for Amlite Lighting, spent the majority of his career—23 years—as executive vice president for Prestigeline. He serves as president of Park Madison Lighting, which is bringing in goods from several factories in China. The line includes collections of table, accent and buffet lamps, in a variety of finishes and materials, offered in the first of three catalogs.
Also offered are high-tech task lighting options in desk, clamp, swing-arms and floor lamps in satin nickel and other finishes, and halogen desk and floor lamps. All are packaged in a four-color gift carton.
Goldstein said he sees several opportunities in today’s economic environment, and doesn’t have the overhead that some struggling companies do. “I feel I can do it a lot better than others. I expect to find my niche and be very good at it,” he told HFN.
