Wisconsin’s USW Local 850 to Celebrate 100 Years of Manufacturing Cookware

KEWASKUM, Wis.–United Steelworkers (USW) Local 850 will celebrate a century of manufacturing in Wisconsin’s Washington County communities of West Bend and Kewaskum on Sept. 24, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The 300 members of the local union produce stainless steel and cast aluminum cookware and stainless steel and aluminum coffee urns.
The Celebration of a Century will take place on under tents at the Regal Ware Manufacturing grounds at 1200 Schmidt Road in West Bend. Admission is free and activities will include live music, cookware drawings, factory tours, a car show and activities for all ages.
“The cooperative relationship that exists between the union members and [Regal Ware] has been very instrumental in achieving this century of success,” said USW Local 850 President Carol
Vetter. “We look forward to the next 100 years.”
USW’s International President Leo Gerard will also be joining the festivities along with USW International Vice President Jon Geenen and USW District 2 Director, Michael Bolton.
Vetter added, “We’re very proud that we are able to meet the challenges of the global market and keep good paying manufacturing jobs here in Washington County.”
