Williams-Sonoma to Debut Starbucks Verismo Coffeemaking System

SAN FRANCISCO-Williams-Sonoma is launching Starbucks’ Verismo System 585 single-cup coffeemaker today on its website, williams-sonoma.com, and will carry the coffeemaker in its U.S. and Canada stores beginning on Sept. 28.

Richard Harvey, brand president of Williams-Sonoma, said the retailer is “thrilled” to be the first retailer to offer the Verismo 585.

The system is the first at-home, single-cup machine that makes Starbucks-quality espresso beverages and brewed coffee with the touch of a button. Its features include a 3.5-liter water tank, custom temperature control and adjustable and programmable beverage size settings. Customers can order the System 585 or the base model 580, along with the coffee pods, beginning today, according to a Williams-Sonoma statement.

The Verismo 585 comes in black and silver, with the silver available exclusively at Williams-Sonoma. As part of the store launch, 150 Williams-Sonoma U.S. stores will feature Starbucks baristas making complimentary coffee drinks with the Verismo machines on Sept. 29 and Sept. 30.

In a separate statement, Starbucks said the Verismo is also now available on its own website, verismo.com. Pricing for the 580 base model is $199, while the Verismo 585 carries a price tag of $399.
