STERLING, Ill.-Wahl Home Products has joined forces with St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a charity for funding research into childhood cancers, to sponsor a challenge involving NFL players Mark Herzlich and Pierre Garcon, who will compete over six weeks to see who can raise the most money for childhood cancer research.
Herzlich is a linebacker for the New York Giants, and Garcon is a wide receiver for the Washington Redskins. The effort began on Monday. The winner gets to shave the other’s head, according to a Wahl statement.
Steve Yde, Wahl’s director of marketing, said the company salutes “all those who shave their head to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, especially when it’s two pro athletes from rival teams putting their hair on the line for such an important and worthwhile cause as this one.”
