SUGAR LAND, Texas–Due to the success of its Made in the U.S.A. program, cookware manufacturer Tramontina is expanding its Manitowoc, Wis., facility and will hire about 80 people as it adds a third shift.
“Our ‘Made in the U.S.A.’ initiative is really paying out,” said Antonio Galafassi, president and chief executive officer of Tramontina USA. “Consumers appreciate high-quality, U.S.-made products, plus we have a ‘green’ advantage. Domestic production shortens lead times and minimizes transportation, which reduces fuel consumption and the need for other resources.”
The company opened its Manitowoc factory in 2005, and said that its annual production there began at 6 million pieces of cookware and is projected to be more than 10 million for this year.
