TeleBrands Launches “American Idol”-Style Inventors’ Competition

FAIRFIELD, N.J.–TeleBrands has scheduled an Inventors Day competition for housewares and kitchenware for July 13, which will be conducted in the style of the “American Idol” television series.

TeleBrands conducts Inventors Days in a variety of categories every two months.

Inventors are invited to the company’s headquarters here to present their inventions in five minutes to TeleBrands founder and chief executive officer, A.J. Khubani, and his executive team. The formula, according to a company statement, is that the invention must “solve a common, everyday problem; appeal to a mass audience; be easily explained in a two-minute infomercial; and retail for $9.99 to $19.99.” If the invention meets the company’s criteria, TeleBrands will market it.

Inventors of housewares/kitchenware products can apply by June 30 at telebrands.com/inventors.html, or by sending an e-mail to InventorsDay@TeleBrands.com.
