Taylor Named to Head P&G Global Health and Grooming
CINCINNATI-As part of a sweeping reorganization of its global business units, Procter & Gamble has appointed David Taylor group president of global health and grooming.
The move puts Taylor over P&G's shave-care, Braun, oral-care, health-care and pet-care product categories. He reports directly to A.G. Lafley, chairman, president and CEO. In assuming responsibility over the pet-care sector, Taylor is succeeding Jorge S. Mesquita, who is leaving P&G to pursue outside interests.
In addition, Charles Pierce, group president of global oral care, has been given additional responsibilities for new business creation and innovation, which were previously handled by Mesquita. He reports to Taylor for oral care and Lafley for new business creation and innovation.
Before taking on his new role, Taylor was group president of global home care. This post has been assumed by Giovanni Ciserani, who has been named group president of global fabric and home care.
In other moves, Martin Riant has been appointed group president of global baby, feminine and family care, and Deborah Henretta has been named group president of global beauty. Lafley said of the reorganization, "We expect this structure to facilitate faster global expansion of brand and product innovations to win with consumers. Sectors will also drive technical, commercial, financial and organizational synergies to improve results."
