MIRE LOMA, Calif.–Snapware Corp. has appointed Craig Allen chief executive officer, succeeding founder John Lown, who has left to pursue other interests, the company said in a statement.
With more than 20 years of senior management experience, Allen joined the company in May 2006 as chief financial officer and executive committee member. In addition, Heidi Slocumb, director of marketing, has been named to the company’s executive committee.
Lown founded Snapware in 1994 as a division of FloTool Corp. and its first product, airtight containers, was launched in 1995.
“John worked tirelessly toward establishing Snapware as a meaningful housewares brand,” said Jeff Smith, chairman of the board. “In recent years, he was dedicated to building a professional management team to accelerate the company’s growth from a niche innovator to a storage category leader. We wish him success as he pursues new business endeavors.”
