HOT SPRINGS, Ark.—Smith’s Consumer Products, makers of knife sharpeners and kitchen tools under the Smith’s and Edgeware brands, today announced its intent to acquire the Fire Wire brand of grilling tools.
Fire Wire is best known for the Flexible Grilling Skewer. The acquisition is expected to close within the next two weeks.

Fire Wire is a natural fit with applications in the housewares, hardware and sporting goods retail channels.”
Fire Wire products will be displayed at the Edgeware booth S651 at the International Home + Housewares Show starting tomorrow in Chicago.
