CINCINNATI–Edward Shirley, vice chairman of Procter & Gamble’s beauty and grooming segment, will retire from the company on Jan. 1, 2012.
Among the products in this segment are the Braun line of electric shavers and the Oral-B group of dental-care products. Until the first of the year, Shirley will serve as vice chairman on special assignment, reporting to Robert McDonald, P&G’s chairman, president and CEO. He will focus on the transition of the beauty and grooming business.
Dimitri Panayotopoulos, vice chairman of global household care, has been named vice chairman of global business units, and assumes responsibility for both the beauty-and-grooming and household-care businesses. Panayotopoulos also reports to McDonald.
