Prepara Goal: Expand Distribution
NEW YORK-Kitchen tool company Prepara has just discontinued its relationship with Harold Import Co. and is taking all sales and distribution activities in-house.
"Harold Import Co. has done a great job for us over the years with gourmet stores and specialty retailers," said Dean Chapman, president and CEO. "However, due to our recent rapid expansion, we have been putting more and more efforts into developing our own rep group force under the guidance of our vice president of sales, Russ Johnson."
At the International Home + Housewares Show in Chicago in March the company will introduce more of the innovative and health-oriented products for which it is known.
Prepara plans to expand its retail distribution further. The brand is currently sold through key independent gourmet stores as well as upscale department stores and specialty store chains. "Our strategy for next year is aimed at getting more branded retail space," Johnson said. "We have a beautiful story to tell, and we want to share it with our retail and consumer customers. Certainly, the direct management of sales and distribution will be a huge help in developing more personal and efficient relationships with all our customers, ultimately benefitting all parties involved."
