SECAUCUS, N.J.-The Panasonic 360° Quick Multidirectional Steam/Dry Iron has garnered a 2010 Innovations Award in the home-appliances category from the Consumer Electronics Association.
The product is one of three steam/dry irons in the 360° Quick Iron line, a trademarked grouping that was introduced in September. According to the CEA Web site, the iron “has a uniquely-shaped ergonomic double-pointed soleplate that enables consumers to iron with greater precision and in less time.” A statement from Panasonic added that this design cuts ironing time by 25 percent. In addition, the soleplate’s surface is slightly curved outward, easing and smoothing side-to-side movements.
The 360° Quick Iron will be displayed at the 2010 International CES, the CEA’s annual trade show, from Jan. 7-10 in Las Vegas.
