NEW YORK-This fall, OXO will expand the products available at retail that benefit Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, the nonprofit founded in 2008 by OXO’s Gretchen and Larry Witt to raise funds for pediatric cancer research. For the past two years, this program has been so successful, OXO said, that for this season it will now include 14 of its most popular baking tools. For each of the specially marked items sold, OXO will donate 25 cents as part of its $100,000 pledge for Cookies for Kids’ Cancer.

The participating products are: a cupcake icing knife, cupcake corer, egg beater, cookie press, cookie spatula, cake tester, bent icing knife, 3-in-1 egg separator, brownie spatula, plastic measuring spoons, plastic measuring cups, stainless steel measuring spoons, stainless steel measuring cups and silicone pastry brush. A special green sticker on the packaging will identify the product as supporting the nonprofit.

Last year, the OXO “Be a Good Cookie” spatula helped raise more than $400,000, the company said.

Cookies for Kids’ Cancer was founded when the Witts’ 2-year-old son Liam was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in 2007. They were shocked to learn of the lack of effective treatments for pediatric cancers due to lack of funding, and Gretchen decided to hold a bake sale to raise money. More than 96,000 cookies were sold at that time, raising more than $420,000. Liam passed away in 2011.
