BOCA RATON, Fla.-Jarden’s Oster brand has unveiled the Versa Performance Blender, which it is touting as a high-performance blender at an affordable price.
The new blender comes with a 1,400-watt motor that spins the stainless steel blade at 28,000 revolutions per minute. It is also designed with an eight-cup, BPA-free Tritan plastic jar, which creates a blending vortex that pushes ingredients off the jar walls and into the blade. A Jarden statement said the Versa can turn any nut into butter in 30 seconds, frozen fruit into sorbet in 30 seconds and make soup in five minutes.
Oster is also positioning the Versa as a means to provide healthier foods through its ability to work with whole fruits, vegetables and legumes. “High-performance blenders are not a niche appliance anymore,” said Matthew Ragland, vice president of marketing. “They are everyday, sit-on-your-counter, use-all-the-time lifestyle appliances that deliver tangible health benefits to consumers.”
