STOCKHOLM–Keith McLoughlin will succeed Hans Stråberg as Electrolux’s president and chief executive officer on Jan. 1, 2011.

McLoughlin is head of research and development, manufacturing and purchasing for Electrolux’s major-appliances unit. He assumed this post last year after heading Electrolux Major Appliances North America. In a company statement, Marcus Wallenberg, Electrolux’s chairman, said McLoughlin will focus in his new position on continuing to execute the company’s overall corporate strategy.

Also in the statement, Stråberg said he will leave Electrolux to work with a portfolio of growth companies and to continue to develop his board assignments. Wallenberg credited Stråberg with transforming and strengthening the company’s market position and for doubling Electrolux’s market value.
