WASHINGTON–Cooking-products importer Manttra Inc. has recalled more than 38,000 of its Smart Series 5-Piece Multi-Cooker Sets, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission [CPSC].
According to a CPSC statement, the lid on these pressure cookers can separate during use if not closed properly, causing the contents to spill out. Manttra has received two reports of minor burn injuries from hot contents spilling out in these circumstances.
Produced by Indian manufacturer TTK Prestige, the cookers were sold at Kohl’s, Robinson’s, Sears and Carson Pirie Scott stores nationwide from June 2003 to April 2007.
