Lifetime Expands Kizmos Line into Dinnerware

       

       

GARDEN CITY, N.Y.–Introduced earlier this year, Lifetime Brands’ Kizmos Get Happy line has expanded into dinnerware, which will be shown at the New York Tabletop Show later this month.

Made of melamine, the initial tabletop group will include four patterns (red, green, purple and a multi-color), each having a mug, a bowl, a salad plate and a dinner plate. There will also be four-piece flatware sets in matching colors. The collection will be sold open stock, though it could be configured into sets in the future.

“The brand language is so unique,” Dan Siegel, executive vice president, Lifetime Brands, told HFN. The line has more of an international appeal — “a fun, worldwide look,” he added. And Lifetime Brands itself is a “more global company at this point.” Already the company is planning to launch other categories within the line, such as water bottles.

The initial line of Kizmos kitchenware looks to bring service with a smile in the kitchen. “Most kitchen tools and gadgets have a black handle with a steel head or a black handle with a black head,” said Sid Ramnarace, vice president of SPARK, the advanced design division of Lifetime Brands. But with the Kizmos line, “the color is fun — people automatically respond to it…When they see these items, they smile.”
