NEW YORK–Irish celebrity chef and television host Kevin Dundon will debut his new range of cookware and other items on ShopHQ, a television, online and mobile retailer, next week. The introduction includes two new categories for Dundon: small electrics and cutlery.
Currently, Dundon’s ceramic-coated cookware has color on the exterior of the pan. The new line will have the color on the interior of the pan, with a stainless steel exterior. It will launch next week in three colors, and by the end of the year there will be six, said Alex McGeeney, director of operations, Allied Rich, with which Dundon has partnered with for the new collection. There will also be all-stainless steel cookware without color for those consumers who want that look instead, he added. The company is using the number one cookware factory in China to manufacture the product, he said, and “the quality has gone up tremendously.” The ceramic coating is from Whitford.
The new line of 35 SKUs includes 8-, 10- and 12-inch fry pans and cookware sets, as well as Dundon’s debut of small electrics, including a three-tier steamer, and cutlery. The handles of the knives “feel smooth in the hand,” Dundon said. And with the sharpener built into the knife block, “the knives can be sharpened easily.” A 12-inch skillet will retail for about $69.99, said McGeeney, while a 15-piece cookware set will be about $179.99.
“The new stuff is fantastic,” Dundon told HFN. “I’ve tested them myself in Ireland—the quality is amazing.”
The host of Create TV’s “Kevin Dundon’s Modern Irish Food,” as well as other shows, and restaurateur, Dundon was here last night for a HauteLook event, for which he did a cooking demo and met with attendees. HauteLook is hosting a sale of Dundon’s current line this week, which exclusively includes Dundon’s Raglan Road cookbook and Modern Irish Food DVD.
