DORSET, Vt.—JK Adams, the 70-year-old family-owned business that manufactures high-end wood housewares in the U.S., has appointed Jon Blatchford as CEO. Reporting to Malcolm Cooper, Jr., chairman and second-generation owner, who previously held the position, Blatchford becomes the first non-family CEO to lead the company and assumes responsibility for all operational and strategic aspects of the business.
Blatchford joins JK Adams after working for a group of privately held manufacturing companies for the past 20 years. Most recently he was the director of sales and marketing for New Hampshire Industries.
“Jon’s disciplined leadership and his experience at blending the creative process with the manufacturing process to produce inventive concepts is a natural fit for our company since we consider product innovation a critical component of our success and our future growth model,” said Cooper. “We are thrilled that Jon will lead our team here in Dorset to address the needs of our customers with the highest levels of service and quality that are JK Adams’ reputation.”
