Japan Pavilion at Housewares Show to Spotlight Earthquake- and Tsunami-Affected Companies

       

       

ROSEMONT, Ill.-Companies from the region in Japan that got the worst of the 2011 earthquake and tsunami will be featured in the Japan Pavilion at the International Home + Housewares Show, which opens one week from tomorrow.

Organized by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), the pavilion will be located in the Dine + Design Expo in the South building of McCormick Place, where the show will take place. It will include 10 exhibitors from the Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures of Japan that were devastated in the disasters of last year. The companies will display products highlighting Japanese craftsmanship and designs in both contemporary and traditional styles.

A sake reception will be held in the pavilion on March 12 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. It will offer sakes from each of the prefectures that were the hardest hit by the earthquake and tsunami.
