SOLINGEN, Germany–J.A. Henckels’ plan to acquire French cookware manufacturer Group Staub is expected to be completed this month, according to Henckels.
Henckels hopes to complement its premium product strategy and establish itself in the growing cast iron-enamel cookware market with the addition of Staub.
“The market for cast iron-enamel cookware is growing everywhere in the world and we are delighted to have this extension of our range,” said Claus Holst-Gydesen, chief executive officer of Zwilling J.A. Henckels AG, in a statement. “Staub is the perfect addition for the Zwilling Group and will contribute to our further growth.”
Staub, headquartered in Turckheim, France, will remain an independent brand. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Henckels is also revamping the look of its Zwilling stores “to achieve a stronger emotional and international look.” Staub cookware has been sold in two Zwilling concept stores in Shanghai, China, since the end of last year.
