The campaign encompasses memberships on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube, along with the posting of pages on Wikipedia for both the association and the trade show, according to an association statement. In addition, IHA has begun a blog on its Web site, housewares.org, on which contributors can post blogs discussing topics such as consumer trends, doing business globally and happenings at the Housewares Show.
The Facebook page includes IHA information and photos, as well as a feature that facilitates communication and networking among industry professionals. The association also has two different Twitter accounts—one, housewaresAssoc, that provides IHA members with information about the industry and exhibiting at the show; and the other, housewaresShow, that was developed for show attendees and that focuses on preshow preparation and show events, along with industry information.
The LinkedIn group displays member networking opportunities and discussion boards to enable contact and focus on business relationships. The YouTube channel, for which a link exists on the Facebook page, has videos of IHA events and others from the industry.
