ROSEMONT, Ill.—The International Housewares Association will hold its next Chief Housewares Executive SuperSession (CHESS) on Oct. 6-7 at The Intercontinental Chicago O’Hare here.
Among the speakers slated for the session will be Adolfo Laurenti, deputy chief economist and managing director of Mesirow Financial, who will speak on the new economic order caused by the recession and lackluster recovery in his keynote address, “Time of Crisis, Time of Opportunities.”
On the second day, Michael Silverstein, senior partner and managing director of The Boston Consulting Group, will deliver an address on the new “female economy,” titled “Women Want More-How to Capture Your Share of the World’s Largest, Fastest-Growing Market.”
The closing address, titled “Retailing Trends to 2015: Recession to Recovery,” will be given by Al Meyers, senior vice president of Kantar Retail. This speech will focus on the fundamentals of the post-recession U.S. retail landscape, and the implications for housewares manufacturers and retailers.
