Housewares Show Gets Raves from Buyers and Sellers
ROSEMONT, Ill.-Last week's International Home + Housewares Show was a success with both attendees and exhibitors, according to a statement from the International Housewares Association, the show's owner and producer.
The sold-out show had more than 2,100 exhibitors and boasted an increase of 6.8 percent in buyer attendance, IHA said. That rise included "significant growth" in attendance from international buyers, according to the statement. Phil Brandl, IHA president, said the association received "very positive feedback" on the show from both exhibitors and attendees.
This year's show featured an extra half day on Saturday, March 10. Brandl said this one of the elements of the show that was well received by both buyers and exhibitors. "Our research shows more buyer visits which exhibitors told us led to more relaxed and meaningful meetings," he said.
Next year's show will take place from March 2-5 at its long-time venue, McCormick Place in Chicago. The show will once again have a Saturday opening.
