Housewares Show Benefits Local Charities

InternationalHomeHswShow2014ROSEMONT, Ill.-Five local charities received product donations as a result of this year’s International Home + Housewares Show.

For the 2014 Housewares Show, 225 exhibitors donated products to the local charities, 29 percent more than at last year’s show, according to the International Housewares Association, owner and operator of the show. The charities that participated this year were the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Greater Illinois Chapter; Family Shelter Service; Marklund Children’s Home; Sertoma Centre Inc.; and The Salvation Army.

Mia Rampersad, the show’s vice president, said, “The product donation program is a convenient way for exhibitors to remove the booth product they don’t want to pack and ship back to their offices, while offering the charities a wonderful opportunity to acquire merchandise they can use for fundraisers and galas. It is a win-win for everyone.”
