EL PASO, Texas–Helen of Troy’s OXO brand has signed two license agreements with Staples, the office-products retailer, and UCB, a biopharmaceutical company.
The license with Staples involves a line of office tools that will be called OXO Good Grips, and includes push pins, push-pin dispensers, staplers and staple removers. The UCB license encompasses syringes and packaging components that help patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis to self administer medicine. Both of these licenses take OXO, whose product lineup includes kitchen and outdoor tools, into new product categories.
Alex Lee, OXO’s president, said in a company statement, “As OXO approaches its 20th anniversary, it’s only natural to extend the brand into uncharted territory. In our case, we want to extend that reach without compromising the principles that are core to the brand and its success.”
