EATONTOWN, N.J.–Flatware manufacturer Hampton Forge has been ranked as one of the top five cutlery brands in terms of dollar sales last year, according to a recent survey by The NPD Group.
The ranking places it alongside longtime cutlery makers J.A Henckels, Chicago Cutlery and Wusthof-Trident, and one licensee, KitchenAid (manufactured by Lifetime Brands).
How did it earn this distinction?
“Hampton Forge is known for offering a quality product at competitive pricing, and we used this approach for the cutlery line as well,” said Tracy Panase, vice president of marketing. “Our design team is constantly refining and refreshing the line so we can offer retailers the best of all worlds—style, function and affordability.”
Cutlery was a natural extension of the company’s flatware business, according to Panase, and allowed the company to provide deeper assortments in various retail channels. Hampton Forge is often ranked as one of the top-selling flatware brands, according to past NPD reports. Several of the company’s premium flatware brands have been extended into cutlery, including its Essenstahl and Skandia brands.
