MENTOR, Ohio–Housewares company Guardian Technologies has been named a winner of the 2011 Leading EDGE Award.

The award—which is given by The Entrepreneurs EDGE, a non-profit organization that enhances economic development in northeast Ohio—recognizes value-creating, middle-market companies in the region. Guardian and other winners were identified by the value they create in the region based on the sum of their earnings before interest and taxes and taxable employee compensation.

A manufacturer of home environment products, Guardian offers sanitizers, air purifiers, floor-care products, humidifiers and accessories. Its brands include germguardian, pureguardian and petpure.
