WATERBURY, Vt.—Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, parent of the Keurig brand of single-serve coffee systems, plans to increase the size of its operations in several Vermont communities.
At its headquarters here, the company has completed a 75,000-square-foot expansion of its manufacturing and production facility, and has built a private road connecting its campuses at Pilgrim Park and Demeritt Place. In Essex, Vt., Green Mountain is taking new space and planning a major expansion in capacity and in its production facility. In Williston, Vt., the company will convert a portion of its 228,000 square feet of commercial space to accommodate additional packaging capabilities.
Green Mountain also plans to open two new locations in South Burlington, Vt., which will include general and administrative functions and a data center.
Lawrence Blanford, Green Mountain’s president and CEO, said the company expects to lease additional office space, build out new facilities and hire new employees in multiple communities across Vermont. “With these expansion plans, we could increase our Vermont, employee base by 30 percent over the next 12 to 18 months,” Blanford said.
