DALLAS–The Gourmet Catalog Buying Group has debuted an online catalog option so that visitors can view a member store’s personalized catalog, a replica of the print version but without the mailing costs.
“While Gourmet Catalog has other online solutions, including a complete member program with Cooking.com, our new Turn the Page option creates a separate opportunity, directly linking the paper catalog to an online version,” said Janis Johnson, president and founder of Gourmet Catalog. “In addition, store members can choose one or both, tailoring the marketing effort to fit their personal preference.”
Besides having their logo, address and contact information listed on the Turn the Page Online Catalog, participating members will also receive an eCover image to place on their own Web site or in an e-mail to customers.
“Without any doubt, online selling and buying are important channels for retailers,” said Johnson. “Postage prices have increased to a point that limits the number of catalogs stores can mail economically,” she added, and these options through the Gourmet Catalog now eliminate that expense. “This of-the-moment advertising tool will keep retailers in touch with customers on a schedule they select,” she said.
