Emerson Radio is planning for a very busy year. Officials at the Parsippany, N.J.-based company said they expect to introduce more than 50 products at the International Home & Housewares Show this week. The new products feature a redesigned look that will change the face of Emerson’s brand using color, clean lines and innovative features, officials said.
“As a company, Emerson has made a significant investment in product design and development, and early results are very encouraging,” says John Spielberger, president of North American operations. “Consumers have quickly embraced our products that combine style and functionality all at a great value.”
Emerson will preview a line of proprietary models, including a drip coffeemaker, slow cooker and toaster oven created with an emphasis on utility. For example, Spielberger said new features include the toaster oven’s expanded size, rotisserie and convection features, the coffeemaker’s programmable clock feature and the 5-quart slow cooker’s slide-proof, dishwasher-safe, crock.
Emerson is also expanding its line of wine products, launched in 2006, with updated designs, including six new colors for its electric wine bottle opener, which retails for $19.99.
“The 2008 success of our housewares line is due to our continued focus on our core microwave and wine cooler product categories, and our expansion into compact refrigeration and coffee makers,” Spielberger said. “In 2009, Emerson will continue our dedication to developing high-quality kitchen products with valued features at affordable prices. Our new product introductions are expected to appeal to consumers looking for variety, upgraded features, and modern style and color.”
