Edgeware Mandoline Slicer Wins Red Dot Award
HOT SPRINGS, Ark.-The Edgeware Mandoline Slicer from Smith's has been named a recipient of the red dot award for product design.
"All products that have won an award in the red dot design award had to convince an international expert jury of their quality," said design expert Peter Zec, the creator of the red dot design award.
This year, designers and companies from 57 nations with a total of 4,252 products took part in the design competition.
The Edgeware Mandoline Slicer's introduction at last week's International Home + Housewares Show marked Smith's initial foray into food prep tools.
Featuring cast aluminum frame construction, the Edgeware Mandoline Slicer includes a proprietary Easy Set precision adjustment mechanism that allows users to cut foods at an infinite range of thickness. It comes with five interchangeable, surgical-grade specialty blades that offer cuts ranging from waffle to julienne.
The red dot awards presentation will take place at the Aalto-Theater opera house in Essen, Germany, on July 5.
