SAN FRANCISCO–Retailer Design Within Reach has launched its newest endeavour DWR: Kitchen, a proprietary system of kitchen cabinets and islands that are both modular and portable. The launch comes only months after the retailer unveiled DWR: Tools for Living housewares collection. The first kitchen installation is on display at the retailer’s 110 Greene St. location in New York.
“First with DWR: Tools for Living, and now with DWR: Kitchen, the solutions offered by Design Within Reach are expanding to further satisfy the essential elements of modern life,” said Ray Brunner, chief executive officer, in a statement. “Simplifying the custom kitchen while maximizing functionality is just one more way for us to cater to the needs of our customers and their busy lives.”
Available in three finishes—black oat, walnut and white—the cabinets have hardware-free fronts and such options as in-drawer knife storage and spice racks and rolling recycling bins. Designed by Nilus de Matran for DWR Design Studio, the line offers cabinets in several heights and widths. The collection also includes a freestanding workstation with either a Carrara marble or Corian top.
