Design Winners Heralded in Chicago
Magisso's Naturally Cooling Ceramics Collection
CHICAGO-Twelve suppliers of cutting-edge designed products won the gia Global Innovation Awards for product innovation at the International Home + Housewares Show.
Magisso was the global honoree that won the Best Collection Design award for its Naturally Cooling Ceramics. Finalists included Carl Mertens for its Verso Collection and Ekobo Ecology & Design for its BIOBU Bamboo Kids Collection.
Global honorees for Best Product Design were Crucial Detail for The Porthole; Joseph Joseph for Twin-cut Compact 2-in-1 Scissors; and Sagaform for Green - Mini Greenhouse. Finalists included Dreamfarm for Onpot; Monbento for MB LIB; Parallax Horizon for MeltThat!; Room Copenhagen for Ole Jensen Colander; and Winestor for Savino.
Global honoree 3 Sprouts received the Martin M. Pegler Award for the Best Booth Design.
"The winners were selected by a panel of design experts who judged them on inspired design quality, brand positioning, outstanding craftsmanship, exclusive market focus and design-focused sustainability," said Phil Brandl, president and CEO of the International Housewares Association, which owns and operates the Show and sponsors the Global Innovation Awards. "We are pleased to have these companies, who extend the limits of the design spectrum, exhibiting at the Show."
