WATERBURY, Vt.–Conair Corp., parent company of Cuisinart, and Keurig have formed a licensing and distribution agreement whereby Conair will develop, market and sell single-cup coffeemakers co-branded under the Cuisinart and Keurig names.
The coffeemakers will be launched in spring 2010, and will be designed to work with Keurig’s patented K-Cup packs of coffees, teas and hot cocoa. Other terms of the agreement were not disclosed, according to a statement from Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, parent of Keurig.
Jill Kreutzer Orent, Cuisinart’s vice president of marketing, said the agreement will enable Cuisinart to enter “one of the fastest-growing segments of the small-appliance marketplace.”
John Whoriskey, vice president and general manager of the Keurig At Home division, said the agreement will give consumers more brands and models to choose from, as the number of coffeemakers using Keurig’s technology expands.
