STILLWATER, Minn.­-Laura Bachman, owner of The Chef's Gallery and cooking
school here, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 16. She was 50 years old.

Bachman has been a member of Gourmet Catalog since she opened her store in
1999.

"We will miss her energy, dynamic personality and creative contribution to
the Group," said Janis Johnson, president and founder of Gourmet Catalog.

Stephanie Jameson, The Chef's Gallery's cooking school director, added, "She
was the driving force. This is her baby and she was creative and she was
brilliant."

Memorials may be made to the nonprofit organization Valley Outreach, at 1911
Curve Crest Boulevard West in Stillwater, or to the Neo-Natal Intensive Care
Unit at Children's Hospital in St. Paul, Minn.

Bachman is survived by three sons, Nathan, Ryan and Zach, and three sisters,
Janet Blankenburg, Nancy Lindgren and Beth Winter.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Bradshaw Celebration of Life
Center in Stillwater. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St.
Andrew's Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi.
