HOUSTON–Consumers wanting a new teakettle have more incentive to buy one in October, thanks to a new trade-in program from housewares company Chantal. Through October, consumers who bring their old teakettles of any brand into a participating retailer or through chantal.com/tradein will get 20 percent off the price of a new Chantal teakettle. The functional teakettles that are traded in will be donated to local charities such as Goodwill for resale, and non-functioning ones will be recycled.
“This program is a wonderful incentive for people to dispose of old teakettles in an environmentally friendly way,” said Heida Thurlow, chief executive officer, Chantal. “Chantal has always utilized environmentally sensitive manufacturing processes and materials, and this is just one more reason that Chantal is a great choice for the many people who are focused on implementing a greener lifestyle.”
Participating retailers are in cities including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Denver, and Seattle. More information is on the Chantal Web site.
