HAYWARD, Calif.–Next week, Simple Wave LLC will receive an Export Achievement Certificate from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration during the International Plastics Showcase in Orlando. Created in 1961 and given out annually, the award recognizes companies that have successfully worked with the U.S. Commercial Service to enter new international markets.
The company, which makes the Calibowl non-spill bowl line that has a patent-pending-designed lip, recently brought all of its manufacturing back to the U.S. It worked with its local Oakland Export Assistance Center to pursue various international markets, and with this counseling, as well as attending local export promotion events, which focused on the benefits of free trade agreements, and trade shows, the company successfully sold the line to retailers in Canada and Singapore.
The award ceremony will take place on Tuesday, April 3, when Peter Perez, deputy assistant secretary for Manufacturing, International Trade Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce, will present the award to Simple Wave’s Jeff Bollengier, president, and Richard Stump, co-founder.
