CHICAGO–Blueair, the manufacturer of air-treatment products, will celebrate its 15th anniversary in business in October.
Founded in Stockholm in 1996 by Bengt Rittri, its current president, the company now has distribution in 42 countries. Among Blueair’s accomplishments is the development of its patented HEPASilent technology, which combines electrostatic and mechanical filtration technology in a three-stage filtration process that captures 99.97 percent of all particles down to 0.1 micron.
From its initial offering of the 400 Series unit air purifier 15 years ago, Blueair has extended its product line to include digital air purifiers and the ECO 10, which operates on 7 watts of power on its lowest speed. It now has assembly facilities in Sweden, the United States and Asia.
