GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.–Bissell has introduced a pet-games video contest in which contestants can upload videos of their pets performing sports.
The contest allows pet owners to show their pets playing the games that will run in the 2008 Animal Planet Puppy Games, which air in August. The sports include swimming, soccer, weights, boxing, gymnastics and others, according to a statement from Bissell. The grand-prize winner will appear on the packaging for Bissell’s patented Lift-Off Revolution Pet Vacuum, and the company will make a $10,000 donation to the charity of the pet owner’s choice.
Much of Bissell’s marketing this year has focused on its products’ ability to pull in pet hair from carpets and other surfaces.
