TORONTO, Canada–Chef Mario Batali and Cosmoda Corp. have created a line of stylish reusable lunch bags for health-conscious commuters and eco-friendly foodies to tote lunches to work. Including satchels, totes, messenger bags, over-the-shoulder bags, and even a crew tote for airline travel, the line is available in a high-density nylon in such food-related colors as Black Pepper, Espresso, Pesto and Persimmon, as well as brightly textured canvas prints. Retail prices range from $20 to $55.
“Given [Batali’s] shared love of food, wine and the inherent joys of life, he was the only choice” for the line, said Andrew Menceles, Cosmoda co-founder. A portion of each lunch bag purchased will benefit The Lunchbox Auction, a non-profit organization that provides lunch to school children in South Africa.
