ATLANTA–Housewares company Base Brands has been selected as one of 20 semifinalists in the 2009 Forbes.com “Boost Your Business” entrepreneurial contest, which has a top prize of $100,000. Out of more than 1,000 entries, Base Brands is one of only two companies from Georgia to be represented in the top 20, the company said.
“We’re passionate about creating products that solve everyday problems and don’t harm our environment, and we’re honored that the judges recognize this,” said Ken Kreafle, chief executive officer and founder of Base Brands. If the company wins the prize of $100,000, he said, that “will help us invent even more eco-friendly products.”
Founded in 2005, Base Brands offers such products as its Reduce WaterWeek five-bottle set to provide a solution to disposable water bottles.
