WASHINGTON-The Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers will launch AHAM Canada, which will represent appliance manufacturers north of the border, in July.
For nearly two decades, according to a statement from the association, AHAM has worked with the Canadian Appliance Manufacturers Association (CAMA) on several advocacy issues. CAMA is one of several membership councils within the Electro Federation of Canada, and the majority of CAMA members are also AHAM members. According to Steve Caldow, CAMA executive committee chairman, members of both AHAM and CAMA have decided that having one industry association for Canada “was the most efficient and effective way to provide member services and represent the industry before key audiences, including public policy makers.”
AHAM Canada will include all AHAM members that do business in Canada, including floor-care appliance manufacturers. It will also employ experts to represent the industry before Canadian federal and provincial governments, and will work closely with technical bodies that affect the home appliance industry.
