NEW YORK–WestPoint Home has contributed Chris Madden Plush blankets to wounded soldiers in Iraq.
The blankets are being sent to the Air Force Hospital in Iraq as part of Operation Cozy Comfort, an effort by Blue Star Mothers of America to replace the regulation Army blankets with softer and plusher products. Blue Star Mothers contacted Chris Madden, chief executive officer of the design firm that bears her name, who in turn approached WestPoint, which holds the license for this line.
Madden has also worked on relief efforts for people victimized by Hurricane Katrina, partnering with both Architecture for Humanity and Habitat for Humanity to help refurnish homes devastated in the hurricane.
