NEW YORK–While some vendors had appointments with customers during the weekend, the showrooms formally open today for this week’s New York Home Fashions Market.

The home-textiles industry is moving slowly through a recovery, but some manufacturers will step forward this week with a variety of new programs. Basic-bedding vendors are providing some juice this week with a number of launches. Hollander will unveil its new line of HoMedics-branded comforters, pillows and mattress pads. Pacific Coast Feather will display an addition to its Sealy licensed program, the Embody line of bed pillows, named after the mattress brand Sealy launched earlier this year. United Feather & Down will unveil the Sheex line of pillows, comforters and mattress pads, made with the performance athletic fabrics that are also used in Sheex’s luxury sheets.

On the decorative-bedding side, WestPoint Home will debut the latest in a series of new brands, the Hanes licensed collection of both decorative and basic bedding. Springs Global is concentrating on its Court of Versailles brand this week, with several new ensembles geared toward the upper end. Other new programs in decorative bedding include Welspun’s licensed collection with designer Thom Filicia, encompassing bed ensembles and bath coordinates. Veratex will spotlight its Borghese collection of fashion bedding, basic and decorative towels, shower curtains, bathroom accessories, accent bathroom rugs and decorative pillows.
