FRANKFURT, Germany–Messe Frankfurt, owner and manager of Heimtextil, and the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT TEX) have created the Home Textiles Fabric Sourcing Expo.
The first expo is scheduled for from Tuesday, July 13 through Thursday, July 15 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York. It will take place alongside Texworld USA, and is planned as an annual event to create a larger sourcing destination for the textiles market. The event will focus on fabric and material sourcing for linens, towels, pillows, window coverings, furniture and other home furnishings.
The launching of the expo is an effort toward creating a market similar to Heimtextil in the Americas and providing opportunities for Messe Frankfurt’s global customer base, according to a Messe Frankfurt statement. It is also intended to provide a market for fabrics and materials in North America, where most of the home-textiles markets are geared toward finished products, the statement added.
CCPIT TEX, whose mission is described as “to support the development of the textile industry” in China, organizes exhibitions for Chinese textile and apparel companies.
