NEW YORK-A memorial service for Kurt Hamburger, president and founder of Lintex, will be held on Jan. 18 at the Metropolitan Synagogue here.

Hamburger passed away on Jan. 6 at the age of 84. He founded Lintex Linens in 1967, and later expanded the company to include Cobra Espalma (founded in 1983) and Lintex Bedding (founded in 2008).

Describing Hamburger as “the quintessential salesman and entrepreneur in every sense of the word,” a company statement said, “He was an innovator. He understood completely both his customers and his products, enabling him to make the perfect match.”

Surviving him are Rae Ellen Blum, his wife and vice president and national sales manager of Lintex; Cari Hamburger Kramer, his daughter and president of Lintex Bedding; Mark Hamburger, his son; and a grandchild, Daniel Kramer.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Hamburger’s memory to the NYU Langone Cardiovascular Medical Center here.
