FALL RIVER, Mass.–Textiles manufacturer Matouk has been honored with the 2011 Innovation Award from the Smaller Business Association of New England.

A panel of judges selected the company from 185 nominees that represented the region’s technology, services and retail/distribution industries. A Matouk statement said the company was cited for its “aggressive marketing strategy” and use of technology such as a robotic quilting machine, a solar-powered factory and automated embroidery machines.

Past winners of the award include Ben & Jerry’s, iRobot, Zipcar and Nantucket Nectars.
