NEW YORK–In a series of executive changes at Westgate/HFI, chief executive officer David Li has resumed the post of president, succeeding Thomas Coughlin, who has left the company. Westgate is a growing supplier of both finished home textiles products and decorative fabric.
In addition, Amy Bell has been named to the new position of executive vice president of marketing and merchandising for the company. She had previously been vice president and merchandise manager for decorative pillows and accessories.
Li said he made his change so he could be more involved with the company’s business on a hands-on basis.
“Our business is actually quite good, however as it continues to grow and become more complex, I feel it is extremely important that I be more involved in the day-to-day functions.”
Coughlin, who was with the company for three years, most recently as president, did not announce his future plans. “We appreciate Tom’s contribution to the company and we wish him well.”
Two other personnel changes were announced, involving operations. Jean Brown, most recently president of the Westgate Interiors division, has been named chief operating officer. She succeeds Jack Cobb, who has now taken over all of the company’s Chinese operations.
